Das Versorgungsgebiet der EWE NETZ ist geprägt von einer überdurchschnittlich hohen Stromeinspeisung aus Erneuerbaren Energien. Dies führt bereits heute zu einem signifikanten Bedarf für den Stromnetzausbau in den Ortsnetzen und mittel- bis langfristig auch in den Mittel- und Hochspannungsnetzen. Im Rahmen einer Studie hat die DBI Gas- und Umwelttechnik GmbH für EWE anhand realer Gasnetze untersucht, welche Potenziale gasseitig sowohl heute als auch in Zukunft für die Aufnahme von Wasserstoff bereitgestellt werden können. Darüber hinaus rücken zunehmend auch reine Wasserstoffinfrastrukturen in den Fokus von Politik und Forschung.
